From Projects to Impact:

Supporting SMEs’ Energy Transition

Final Conference of the SMEnergy Project

Tuesday, 9 June 2026, 09:00 – 14:40

Danube Interreg

SMEnergy project

About SMEnergy project

Europe’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) stand at the forefront of the green transition – yet in many parts of the continent they are still missing a crucial piece of the puzzle: structured, accessible support to navigate their energy transformation.

This is where the SMEnergy project steps in. Funded by the Interreg Danube Region Programme, SMEnergy pilots one-stop shop (OSS) networks in countries and regions that currently lack them, acting as central hubs that offer SMEs practical guidance, expert services and a coordinated path towards energy efficiency and sustainability.

While some EU Member States are already benefiting from mature OSS infrastructures, others are just getting started – facing the challenge of building systems that are effective, scalable and adapted to local realities. The SMEnergy project brings these different starting points together and tests what really works in the Danube Region context.

Why is it worth attending the conference?

All about one-stop shops to help SMEs make the green energy transition

The final conference in Budapest marks the culmination of 30 months of SMEnergy pilot work in the Danube Region, showcasing what truly worked – and what did not.

In a single day, you will see concrete pilot results, learn which elements of the one‑stop shop model are realistically transferable, and gain practical insights on how to keep SME support structures alive beyond project cycles.

By joining, you can tap into a ready‑made network of organisations working on SME energy transition and open doors to new projects and collaborations.

The event is a must-attend for

policy makers, development agencies

SMEs and SME support and business development organisations (chambers, clusters, agencies)

energy consultancies, innovation hubs and one‑stop shop operators

working in regions where OSS models are still to come – and for anyone across Europe involved in shaping or delivering similar programmes.
